What Ban? Indonesian Regulator Asks Banks To Use Blockchain Technology

Reports of crackdown on bitcoin payments in Indonesia by Bank Indonesia are quite upsetting. However, behind the ban there is news that OJK supports the use of blockchain technology and is pushing financial institutions in Indonesia to use this technology.

This fact is emphasized by Roberto Akyuwen, executive analyst to the senior deputy commissioner of Banking Oversight. He explained that the use of technology is a must for People’s Credit Bank to be able to compete in the financial industry, and keep improving their banking services.

Pandu Satrowardoyo, Chairwoman of Blockchain Zoo says: “Blockchain Zoo is happy to assist the Financial Services Authority to help increase the SLAs of government banks, whether regional or rural. We chose to be based in Bali to link up our international expertise with local developers, companies, and organizations; we’re certain that Blockchain Zoo can bring value to the Indonesian government as well.”
